Yara Zgheib Aristotle at Afternoon Tea

Behind Aristotle

My name is Yara, and I am a bookworm, writer, and constant traveler and dreamer. I was born in Beirut but have lived a little bit everywhere: Glasgow, Washington, Paris, Saint Louis, Boston... and am not done yet.

I am a Fulbright scholar with a PhD in international affairs and diplomacy.  More importantly, I am an incurable romantic, a daughter, a sister, a wife. I believe that abstract ideas like courage, kindness, and justice can change the world. I believe in dignity, and the good in people. And I believe in the power of words.

My writings are conversations about politics, art, culture, economics, literature, philosophy, and chocolate, with great thinkers who inspire me. Like me, this website is part-Peter Pan, part-realpolitik. And like life, it is what you make of it. I think of it as a smart conversation over afternoon tea. I hope you will join in.

Sincerely yours,

P.S. If you would like more of Aristotle and me, you can find us on these platforms too: The Huffington Post, The Four Seasons Magazine, The Idea List, A Woman’s Paris, Holiday Magazine, HOME Magazine, Medium, Tumblr, and Womanscape.

You may also come across a lovely little book called Biography of a Little Prince. It is the story of my adventures with a little boy dear to my heart.
